German Design Award 2017

Our project for the staging of the "Infoarena Albulatunnel Rhätische Bahn" has been awarded with the German Design Award for "Excellent Communications Design Urban Space"!

The Infoarena Albatunnel not only aims to inform visitors about the construction of the new Alpine tunnel of the Rhätische Bahn (RhB) but also serves as a fence for the building site and a touristic attraction. With its long wall resembling the mountain silhouettes the Infoarena is the starting point for the theme path along the UNESCO World Heritage RhB and besides that it represents a new attraction with various exhibitions and elements for playing.

Nature reserve ‘The Desert’ in Mannersdorf, Leitha Mountains (A)

Many monasteries, castles and palaces eke out a miserable existence, slowly falling into disrepair, it not being clear to their respective owners how much untapped potential is lying idle at their hands. A lot of added value can be lost in a region, when such venerable halls remain closed to visitors.

In the framework of the EU regional development programme ‘LEADER’, we opened the historic structures and natural park, turning them into a tourist attraction. Based on past traditions, we have carefully orchestrated both the natural park and historical legacy. The aim was to upgrade the existing sites as well as to provide visitors with powerful experience moments.

Recently, Erlebnisplan has physically outgrown our work environment. As well, there are now more than ten of us, which has created the need for more office space. We have found a solution to what we had been looking for – and it is literally at the other end of the same street. We are now directly opposite the town hall, near the old town of Lucerne, our beautiful city of lights.

This landmark castle welcomes1 million visitors annually, which makes us feel even more honoured to accept this award and task.

The opening will take place in 2015.
