A new face for the Rinderberg...
In the Bernese Oberland the portfolio of the Gstaad Mountain Railway Company (BDG) includes an attractive range of easily accessible mountains which are well-known for excursionists and outdoor-fans alike. In order to proactively meet the challenges the overall tourism industry is facing and to find a way to differentiate its touristic offers, Erlebnisplan was consulted for the valorization of the product portfolio. The Rinderberg with its two cable car sections and the direct railway connection was at the center of attention for this project. The aim was to develop a positioning concept aligning with the current market requirements as well as the generation of added value for the cable car and the surrounding service providers.
Erlebnisplan accompanied the BDG and Gstaad Marketing together with local stakeholders in the development of a strong and differentiating vision for the future of the Rinderberg. Based on local conditions the entire visitor experience was revised from the railway station Zweisimmen up to the top station of the cable car. The focus of development was on the creation of new offers for the summer season. In addition to the long-term perspective, first interventions were already implemented during the concept phase in order to release a strong impulse for further development.
